We can get together and plan out a way to either carpool or buspool people to the Washington Rally for starters!
IV needs every bit of support that we can provide. The time is past where we sit by and do nothing! It is time for each and everyone of us to let lawmakers of this country know how we are being exploited... or how each and everyone of us has to keep his\her lives on hold for the dream of a GC!
Please do not think sit back thinking "Let them do the rallying... I will enjoy the benefit(s)".
Realize that the rally cannot be a success unless you act and remember that if you do not act, we have little chance of getting the benefit(s). So, shed your fears and insecurities... stand up proud and join us as we try to make this rally a tremendous success!

Hi Guys,
I didn't find such a thread in my search. If you thing there is already one please delete this.
I want to start a thread for tracking cases which were transfered from one place to other and to estimate that if we are getting in the back of the queue OR receipt date is acknowledged.
My I 485 transfered from TX to CAL and now to NEBRASKA.
131 AND 765 says received and pending at California
package was received at Texas on 23rd July and Cal center issued notice on Sep 24.
Please let me know if anyone has similar case.

yesterday the NSC date for I-485 was Mar 01. 2007. Today its back to Sep 06. Man, these are total mind games!

You did a good job by traveling out of the country and obtained a new I-94 based on the existing L-1 so that the H-1 status didn't kicked in. Yes, your L-1 can be extended for now as you still maintained L-1 status. Later if you decide to file an H-1 the best thing would be a change of status (L-1 to H-1) application.

Form AR-11 asks for the date my stay in the United States will expire. What date should I use? Currently, I am on working on EAD (I-485 pending) and last entered US on AP.

Based on my experience i do not see any issues in your case
Ensure your EB2 and EB3 job duties are different at least 50%
Apply for PERM ASAP as it is only 7 months now..

Looking at the responses from admins and core group on the Frist Bill threads it appears that the strategy for IV is to
(i) Send mass faxes to senators to establish IV as a significant org
(ii) Use the above leverage and QGA contacts to try and include additional favourable clauses in the bill while still supporting the bill as is.
The 2 main broad clauses that everyone seems to have consensus on is
(A) Re-instatement of AC-21 (paragraph 5) in full so that oversubscribed countries are eligible to use left-over visas from the rest of the world.
(B) Ability to file I-485 while the visa number is retrogressed.
This thread is to discuss alternatives for these 2 main clauses so that various options can be discussed with Senators if they are not willing to put these clauses as is:
For example:
(A) AC-21 clause alternatives
1. Put in the clause for a limited time period like 5 years, this will relieve the curretn backlog as well as make sure that the immigration per country numbers are not skewed for ever.
2. Increase the per-country limits to 25% so it may be skewed but not that much
3. Increase the per-country to 25% for a limited period of time ( 5 years)
4. Have per country limit 10% on current year only. But for recapture from previous years do not impose per country limit.
(B) Filing I-485 when priority dates not curretn
1. allow for filing if I-140 approved and priority dates stilll not curretn
2. allow for filing of 6 months has passed since I-140 approved and priority dates curretn
3. USCIS favourite :-) allow filing if 45 days has passed since I-140 has been filed and priority dates not curretn.

FWIW as long as you are on H1 I think your family can always get a H4 visa outside the country based on your H1 status and reenter on H4 if that is also being considered.

For all RIR cases, they have gone through March 28, 2005 at least one iterations...They also have been approving cases randomly...
For TR it is still not clear.....They have started posting the jobs in america's job bank...
So it could be anything now...There is no set pattern at present...
There is speculation on immigrationportal that all 2001/02 cases would get through in March april ....

Thanks. I like your idea;A better place for that would be any country where expatriates work in the Middle East ( Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman etc)
I think if there is no time limit ( currently 6 years) on h1 visa and there are 3 yr extensions, it will make all of our lives so much easier.
There will be no hurry to apply for GCs and those who really want to stay in US forever will apply, thus reducing all this backlogs too.
Any thoughts.

as long as you enter the country back on or before Sept 30th 2010 you will be in good shape otherwise you will need a new visa to enter.

1. Send all AOS forms and proof of pregnancy from the doctor. They will issue RFE or you can send medical after the delivery. Don't take risk while on pregnancy. RFE reply will get 30-45 days time.
2. If your current visa is not expired, you can delay in filing I-485. Just file I-130 now.
